Wills
In order to ensure that what you really want to happen to your estate occurs after you have gone it is essential to make a will.

The importance of a Will cannot be over emphasised and we can ensure that each one is tailor made to suit your requirements. After death we can ensure for the benefit of those left behind, that the estate is administered with sympathy and efficiency.
What will we do ?
We will help you to make a will that ensures that your wishes are clearly expressed and is tax efficient so that the minimum amount of money goes to the Inland Revenue and the maximum goes to your beneficiaries.
Where to keep the will
It is important to keep your will in a safe place and tell your executors or a close friend or relative where it is. If you wish we can store your will for you in our strongroom.

You may want to include our firm as executors or co executors (alongside a relative or friend) as that will ensure that all the legal processes are carried out as efficiently as possible.
Executors?
You must name the people you want to appoint as ‘executors’ of your will - the people who carry out the administration of your will after your death. These could be friends or family members, or a professional such as your solicitor. A good combination would be a friend or family member and a professional. Ideally, you should choose someone who is familiar with financial matters. Make sure you ask your executors whether they are happy to take on this duty as there are long-term responsibilities involved. It is a good idea to ask someone younger than you are.
Signing the will
Once the will has been drawn up it is not effective until it has been signed. There are several rules affecting the signature process which, if not followed correctly, will make your will invalid. For example, witnesses and their husbands and wives cannot benefit under the will. |
